Will Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Sarbjit be banned in Pakistan?
Pakistan and India have always been two politically hostile countries. But when it comes to breaking barriers between the two countries, films and especially Bollywood has helped do the impossible. With many Pakistani actors making their foray into Indian films, the gap is getting bridged. But there's one thing that has always been an issue. Many Indian films have been banned in Pakistan and similarly, many films from Pakistan have been banned in India.
Here the question is: Will Sarbjit fall prey to the political hostility between the two countries? Why we say so? The film revolves around the life of Sarabjit Singh, the Indian farmer who was kept in captivation in Pakistan till the very last day and the relentless fight for justice led by his sister Dalbir Kaur. Randeep Hooda plays Sarabjit whereas Aishwarya Rai Bachchan leads the pack as Dalbir.
Now, the trailer of Sarbjit has bene unveiled last week and it does raise quite a few eyebrows. Intriguing, gritty and very, very intense- the trailer has pakced quite a punch. But there a few scenes which might go down too well with the Pakistan Censors. Given the history of bans that Bollywood films have faced in Pakistan, it's a no-brainer that the Censor Board of Pakistan will scrutinise the film very carefully before allowing its release in the neighbouring country.
