TDP female Leader Tried To Encroach 173 Houses in Visakhapatnam:

In a shocking revelation, a TDP female leader named K Lakshmi has been found attempting to encroach as many as 173 houses in Visakhapatnam. According to the reports, Lakshmi, a loyal confidant of the TDP minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, tried to encroach the JNNURM houses allotted to the poor.

The AP government in 2006 had sanctioned funds to build 15,320 pucca houses, out of which 14,235 were completed and were handed over to 12,969 eligible candidates, with 1266 buildings yet to be assigned to the deserving applicants.

Following the late CM YSR's demise, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, then a Congress minister, failed in sanctioning these houses to his close associates. In an ambitious mission, Lakshmi prepared a list comprising 173 ineligible candidates and submitted it to the authorities with Ganta's recommendation. But the then Municipal Commissioners Ramanjaneyulu and Satyanarayana scrapped her list.

Ever since the TDP government came into power, Lakshmi got back to her mission and again submitted the list to the District Collectorate through GVMC's UCD section. The file was okayed in the Collectorate and reached Corporation on Tuesday. Reports say that crores of rupees were exchanged between the officials in the process.
