6-Time MP to join Telugu Desam Party:

No signs of revival in the vicinity kept forcing even some of the hardcore Congressmen ditch the parent party. A Former Union Minister is going to join the likes of Rayapati, Kavuri, Purandeswari, Botsa, Kanna and Anam Brothers.

Sai Prathap, a 6-time MP from Rajampet, will be joining Telugu Desam Party in the presence of AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu very soon. After the discussions with TDP Leadership turned fruitful, The former MP found no reason to continue in the sinked ship, Congress.

Sai Prathap belongs to Balija Community in Kadapa district. He represented Rajampet Lok Sabha segment 4 times in a row between the period 1989 to 1999. Sai Prathap, however, lost to TDP Candidate Gunipati Ramayya in 1999 polls. Again, He was elected to Parliament in 2004 and 2009 elections. In the 2014 Polls, Contesting on Congress ticket led to his defeat in the hands of YSR Congress candidate Mithun Reddy.

Though he is known to be a close aide of former CM late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Sai Prathap preferred TDP over YSR Congress for reasons known best to him. Is this a bigger blow to Jagan than Congress?
